Occupational Therapist - PRN - Physical Medicine and Rehab

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain occupational skills.

In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes.
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to:
holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call.

Reports to:
Manager/Director Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Essential Functions Precepts/orients new employees and students.
Actively participates on department based/facility committees.
Leads change through championing process improvement initiatives.
Volunteers for community based events sponsored by the organization.
Is a role model for others.
Serves as a subject matter expert.
Assesses patient's ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills.
Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
Incorporates appropriate growth and development knowledge and principles into the care of various patient populations.
Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
Documents subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
Seeks consultation as necessary.
Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
Attends and participates in patient care coordination meetings, team and family conferences, as needed.
Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
Supervises and delegates the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
Develops programs to assist in employee and community education.
Evaluation of inpatient performed within twenty-four (24) hours of received orders.
Completion of electronic outpatient evaluation within 72 working hours of visit.
Non-Essential Functions Identifies and pursues opportunities to expand professional development; examples might include:
committee participation, conducts brown-bag sessions, takes professional development courses, and attends non-mandatory educational offerings.
Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.
Minimum Education Bachelors Degree (Occupational Therapy) X Required Masters Degree (Occupational Therapy) Preferred Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) VA Occupational Therapist License Minimum Work Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
