GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:
Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, provides customer service and administrative support.
This position focuses on providing services, information, and assistance to the public.
Performs intermediate administrative support work performing a variety of office assistance and administrative tasks; does related work as required.
This is primarily sedentary work, occasionally requiring movement about the facility, requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work requires reaching, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; on occasion, may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Schedule varies and will include early morning, nights, and weekends to meet facility needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
Provides courteous and timely customer service to Town staff, vendors, citizens, and other visitors; refers customers to appropriate staff; Maintains participant files and records as needed for program management and review; Handles all aspects of multi-line telephone system for office; answers, screens, and transfers incoming calls to the proper department staff with courtesy and consideration to the situation; Conducts sales transactions; operates a point-of-sale application (cash draw system); reconciles cash drawers; provides tours of facility and services; Assists with facility supervision; controls facility traffic; monitors the use of upstairs facilities; monitors all persons accessing facility; Ensures efficient and effective use of Town equipment and property in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures; May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
General knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and techniques; general knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; general knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; general knowledge of word processing including keyboarding skills; general knowledge of customer service; ability to operate standard office, personal computer and related equipment; ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail; ability to complete all required forms with accuracy; ability to ensure accuracy in data entry and filing; ability to manage customer service needs; ability to maintain professional manner and composure, in all types of situations; ability to maintain a good rapport with staff, members and the general public; ability to utilize team member support and understand the appropriate time to seek support from other staff; ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing; ability to follow direction; ability to work under limited supervision.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related work experience in a customer service position involving contact with the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Interest in health and wellness preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check.
CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
