The child welfare worker will provide a provision of services to enhance the safety, permanency and well-being of children in foster care.
This worker will partner with others to support child and family success in a system that is family -focused, child centered and community based.
This worker will work collaboratively with the Children's Services Act program.
Knowledge and skills- Comprehensive knowledge of social work principles and practices.
A knowledge of family engagement services to include needs assessment, developing family service plans and providing support for the child and family while the child is in foster care.
Ensure that service plans respond to the strengths, needs, and desires of the child and family.
Education and experience- minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Work experience in a local department of social services Bilingual Possession of a BSW or MSW degree Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid appropriate driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Employee must be willing to work in the community emergency shelter in the event of a natural disaster or emergency.
On-call rotation outside of normal working hours.
All employment offers are contingent upon a successful criminal background check.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
