Mental Health Counselor
National Counseling Group is seeking Mental Health Counselors in the Culpeper VA area, who are Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) with at least one year of direct clinical experience counseling children and adolescents. The incumbent must have the desire to work with individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illnesses and often consult with other mental health professionals to provide effective courses of treatment. Free Licensure Supervision also provided
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct clinical services to clients, including individual, family, couple, and group counseling, and issue-specific or educational groups (parenting skills, anger management, substance abuse interventions).
-Assess patients' mental status through interviews or observations, and then developing treatment plans or making referrals to the appropriate services.
-Responds to crisis situations with twenty-four hour a day availability.
-Documents case activities for both clinical and billing purposes.
-Works with Clinical Supervisor to increase effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
-Knowledge of CPR and first aid, (Certification preferred)
-Knowledge of medical and psychological terminology.
Must have:
-Valid driver's license

-QMHP-C (Qualified Mental Health Professional-Child)
-Bachelor's Degree in the human services field from an accredited college or universityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
